CLINTON FEARON : ICONO DEL REGGAE MUNDIAL

Si conoces la música reggae, entonces debes conocer a  Clinton Fearon . Clinton Fearon se cuenta entre los músicos más talentosos de Jamaica, reconocido por sus compañeros y profesionales de la industria de la música Reggae. Sus riffs de bajo , licks de guitarra, los acentos de percusión y las voces poderosas que conviertena Clinton Fearon en una leyenda viva entre los músicos de reggae y su público.

Proveniente de una rica historia musical, Clinton Fearon nace en Saint Andrews y creció en  lo profundo de las colinas de San Catherine, Jamaica. Descubrió la música cantando solitario  entre los árboles y después de cantó en la Iglesia Adventista en su país. Se estableció en Kingston cuando tenía unos 16 años, trabajando en las carreteras y la reproducción de música para sí mismo. A los 17 años de Clinton fundó su primer grupo, «The Brothers», en busca de la oportunidad de grabaren Studio One y Treasure Isle. A finales de 1969, Clinton se reunió con Errol Grandisson, quien estaba buscando un guitarrista para reemplazar a David Webber, en el interior de The Gladiators. Clinton pasa una audición con  Albert Griffiths y se convierte en tercer Gladiator, a la edad de 18 años.

Fue miembro durante 18 años, tocando el bajo, cantando armonías, y, junto a Albert Griffiths, escribir y cantar algunas de las más bellas canciones del grupo «Chatty Chatty Mouth,» «Rich Man Poor Man,» «Get Ready» and «Let Jah Be Praised», entre otras.

Antes de mudarse a Seattle a finales de los años 80, el artista de reggae jamaiquino Clinton Fearon pasó casi dos décadas de dedicado en el  bajo y voz con  The Gladiators y trabajó  como músico casa de Lee «Scratch» Perry. A su llegada en el noroeste, «Basie» continuó su tradición dub formando las seis piezas Brown Band Boogie, una brigada con experiencia de instrumentistas que cubren cuerdas, metales y percusión. El prolífico Fearon es un icono del reggae, mejor conocido por sus riffs de bajo – de ahí el apodo – su trabajo con la Boogie Brown Band es una prueba de que su composición y habilidades vocales son igual de impresionantes. Con vibras edificantes y melodías bailables, Fearon exhibe lo mejor de roots reggae del mundo.

El último albúm llamado “Goodness”, fue lanzado en el año 2014,  y esta nueva obra de arte, como todo lo que toca este genio, trae en forma de videoclip su tema “Poor Nana”

Sin duda, uno de los ejemplos de buen hacer, buen gusto y expresión perfecta del sentimiento reggae en blanco y negro.
